Mabel's Place
On a dead end road, 4 1/2 miles from pavement & mailboxes, 1/4 mile from gravel, I am blessed with 40 acres, where the deer and the antelope play. Saw my first mountain lion in February '06. Check out my boondocks blog for details.
Mabel's Place is being created to share my critters, flowers, writings, and my paintings.
I live with four horses, a Great Pyrenees dog , 2 cats, chickens, 2 peacocks and some goldfish who are waiting for their 3,000 gallon fish pond to be finished.
I am most content working hard: doing what a girls' gotta do ~ unloading hay, feeding, building side-gaggled sheds & pea pens, corral fences (oops! one just fell down !), chain sawing wood, digging, planting, etc. And of course, riding my horses ! ! !
~ BALIN' TWINE is a necessity of life ! ~ That's how I MA KETTLE everything together !

I ~ The Other Side of the Well ~ a snippet of a writing project, that all by itself, has turned into a 242 page book! A fantasy adventure, similar to The Chronicles of Narnia, starring: Granma and Julio
Being sucked down the well, G & J visit strange characters and different worlds before they are sucked back into their own Earthworld. This snippet is about Red Salsa, tarantulas, the Big T and his people, the Chips. HOPE YOU ENJOY!
